The Argentinian ARM driver is proof that single-seaters are not the only option when it comes to a full time career in motor sport. “Pechito” has driven practically every type of racing machine. After his debut in karting, he moved up to single-seaters, winning the Renault V6 Eurocup, then running in F3000 and GP2 before moving to Renault F1 as a test driver. His career stalled for nearly 10 years after that, until he was recruited by the Citroën team in WTCC, where he won the world title three times in a row. Proving his versatility, in 2017 Jose-Maria made his debut in not just one, but two series, tackling Formula E and the FIA WEC in LMP1 as a Toyota factory driver. For 2018, his programme remains the same, although in Formula E, the Argentinian has switched to the Dragon Racing team.
